Wondering where to park at Landmannalaugar? There are two parking lots at Landmannalaugar from which to choose.
The first parking lot at Landmannalaugar as you arrive is called P1. It is a large parking area located before you arrive at the river crossings.
If you came in a smaller vehicle or you are hesitant about taking your vehicle over the river crossings, park at the P1 parking lot! From this parking lot, you can walk over to the Landmannalaugar Campsite, crossing the pedestrian bridge over the river.
If you came is a high-clearance vehicle and you are an experienced driver not worried about crossing the river in your vehicle, you can drive past the streams and park at the P2 parking lot, which is right next to the Landmannalaugar Hut and Campground.

Do you need advance reservations for parking at Landmannalaugar?
Yes, parking reservations are now in place over the summer at Landmannalaugar, to manage visitation and reduce congestion.
if you plan to visit between June 20 and September 14, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., you need advance reservations. Check exact dates for the year of your visit and make reservations here.
What is the parking fee at Landmannalaugar?
There is a parking fee of 1,200 ISK (about USD 9.18) for a standard car to park in the parking lots at Landmannalaugar. This is a bundled fee that also includes the service fee charged to day visitors for the use of the toilets and changing facilities.
If you are planning to reserve ahead, you can reserve your spot and pay the service fee on the Parka website.
If you plan to arrive outside of the window requiring reservations, you can pay at the time you visit. The service (or parking) fee is required regardless of when you visit.

From the P1 parking lot at Landmannalaugar, it is about a 12- to 20-minute walk one way to the campsite, depending on how fast you walk. The distance is about 966 meters (0.6 mile), and you will cross the bridge over the river.
From the P2 parking lot at Landmannalaugar, it is just a few steps to the campsite and the Landmannalaugar Hut where you can find information.
