Reykjavik Excursions offers the Highland Bus to Landmannalaugar every summer. The buses are specialized highland buses that can operate effectively on F roads and are operated by professional drivers.

The Landmannalaugar bus departs the Reykjavik Campsite Hostel at 6.30 a.m. and arrives at Landmannalaugar at 11.30 a.m., with stops at the BSÍ Bus Terminal in Reykjavik, Selfoss, Hella, and Rjúpnavellir.

The afternoon bus departs Landmannalaugar at 3.45 p.m. and arrives at the Reykjavik Campsite Hostel at 7.45 p.m.

The 4 hours and 15 minutes you have in Landmannalaugar on this day itinerary are sufficient to do one or two short hikes or one longer hike, enjoy a relaxing soak in a geothermal spring, and enjoy the beauty of the region.
